The Renaissance Mentoring program provides educational work experience for local college students from disadvantaged backgrounds. Aspiring to break the cycle of poverty in our city, our Renaissance Apprentices are typically the first in their families to attend college. By gaining valuable, real world work experience through mentoring internships at local businesses, each Renaissance Apprentice will emerge better equipped for a career in Buffalo upon graduation from college. The program is a collaborative effort between the Buffalo Renaissance Foundation and the Buffalo Urban League.

The majority of BRF Directors, via their companies and personal oversight, will annually mentor area college students of a disadvantaged background. Internship opportunities within BRF Director companies are currently under development.

Summer Internships will begin on Monday, July 15 and end on Friday, August 19, 2011. Internships are 20 hours a week for six weeks. The intern will be paid a $10.00/hourly wage. Each intern's schedule will be determined upon mutual agreement between the company and the intern.

The 2011 internship opportunities are at a variety of different companies throughout Western New York. If you are interested in learning more and applying for one of these internships, please email Scott McManigle at brf.mcmanigle@gmail.com.
